july surfing

« on: January 11 2009 18:01:00 »

I have been to Sayulita a couple of times now, but I have never been in the summer. I am wanting to go in July 09 for a couple different reasons. I want to be there when the jungle is in full bloom. But the reason to go at all is to surf. Has anyone been in July and how do you think the wave is this time of year?

I've been in July, and it is VERY small. Not worth it.

Sayulita it's nice in July, waves are good depending the swells. I there is a place really cool called Mazatlan up north, you should check it out, there is some places you can stay for a good price, the waves in town are really good, try to stay with the guys from they know places around the town that not many people know about. (0 to 5 people in the water)
Have fun

Yeah Sayulita is small/flat in the summer due to north facing beaches. July pumps in mex everywhere else. The jungle is amazing, drive through mex 200 in michoacan, tropical Big Sur except with good waves.
