Best Spot in Mexico« on: June 29 2009 01:06:00 »
i m going to mexico end of this week and would like to know, which is the best spot for this time of the year. i know there s so many spots, but i am thankfull for any advice. i ve been surfing for 13 years and have some experience (surfed many place in asia, central-, southamerica and europe) but sure i am not a pro surfer. puerto seems to be nice, but is probably to big and heavy this time of the year. i am thinking about la ticla and rio nexpa. all i need is a perfekt wave :) and a place to stay safe. bars or party is not important for me.
so experts or people who ve been in mexico recently, please give me some advice about spots and places to stay.

Go to Barra de la Cruz, thats where Im going. Its a little further down south of Puerto. And also, The waves right now are big in Puerto, but mainly on Zicatela. There are plenty smaller spots up and down the beach. Good luck

hi and thanks for your answer,
are there places to stay at barra de la cruz (because i am not going to have a car, and no tent as well) and is it a consistent wave, that breaks almost every day or is ist better to wait for a big swell?
any ideas of la ticla (places to stay, consistency, qualtity of the wave)

Why would you tell someone about Barra de la Cruz....seriously. It's not like it's a secret spot anymore but it's nice to let some spots remain a little hidden, no? Due to Barra's location and limited accessibility without a car, you'll have difficulty getting there and there are no places to stay unless you pitch your tent and take your chances with the mosquitos.

Andi, Barra is an excellent wave don't get me wrong but is waaaay too crowded now and surfers just seem too aggressive in my opinion. Ticla is semi crowded at the most and is a lot mellower... Same goes for Nexpa! Oaxaca and Michoacan both have beautiful coastlines with outstanding surf potential. Do your research and you decide. Good luck!
