I'm going to Mexico in January and would like to surf and travel the mainland coast. My boyfriend and I are adv.beginner surfers so need chill breaks, we are deciding between going to the north or south Mexico coast. I would prefer a mellow area/surf beach. Also we will be renting boards along the way. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

but are you longboarders? the deep southern coast will be too hit and miss and windy as hell. central mex is always working but these days not so safe. u could always fly into zihuat, get a car and do saladita, nexpa, ticla but just be careful in michoacan right now. lots of robberies and scary stuff which has been great for crowds hahaha. but always consistent and no tourist hoopla. Sayulita has 60 people in the water from Dec thru Jan. a joke. A mellower alternative is punta mita. catches north swell good and longboardable even when small. 6 or 8 breaks light up with every nw swell. |
