Question Re Surf Mazatlan April 2010« on: February 24 2010 10:02:00 »
Hello - I was wondering if anyone had advice info on spots during that time of year. We will have intermediate and beginner.
Also - any advice on the car rental situation at the airport? I have read mixed reviews about the experience...

Its going to be FLAT. Go south, waaay south. Look for spots with a good west exposure of hope for a way early season south swell. Good luck and drink lots of booze!

the thing about April in all of mainland Mexico is if anything an excess of swell. April and May in the Mazaltan area aren't as ridiculous as way down south, but we've had overhead surf 54 days in a row before starting in late March. usually it's overhead about 25/30 days in the average April and about the same in May.
the idea of it being flat in April is pretty absurd. you don't believe me call Mazatlan Surf Center. Alister is one of the top rated surfers in all of Mex.
