Beginner surfing in Mexico or Central America

« on: May 15 2010 20:05:00 »

I'm thinking about heading down south for a 10-day vacation in June and would love to hit up a laid back beach with a good break for beginners, maybe a surf camp, but definitely on the cheap. Any suggestions?

Thanks-
Paul

Try Sayulita in Mexico, just come from there. It's got nice left and right point breaks right in the town. Great food and cool people. Can get a bit crowded in the late afternoon.

nosara, costa rica... laidback, definitely good for beginners, middle of no where (if you're interested in the anonymity), and surf lessons/rentals there are available and affordable.
