Trip to Central America - What's the best way to get around?« on: December 20 2011 22:12:00 »
Hi I'm an 18 year old Australian planning a trip around Socal and Central America mid next year (2012).
Wondering if anyone has some info on a good way to get around (whether it be car, train etc). It might be cheaper to buy a car rather than hire one as well. Wondering if anyone had any useful info.

Money Saving Tips for Central America:
1. Use Public Transport: Public transport is very cheap and usually very efficient. Local buses, especially ones that aren’t direct, cost only a few dollars. They may be slow and crowded but they are cheap!
2. Mercados: Although eating out is cheap in Central America, it makes sense to shop at the markets for your food to take on day trips or prepare at your hostel. Fruit costs just pennies.
3. Drink Less: Beer is more expensive than food here. Cut down your drinking or drink the local beer.

Thanks dudes. Does anyone know if it's easy for foreigners to buy and sell cars in the United States? I've got no clue and any suggestions would be great.
