Baja Unsafe? - Myth or fact« on: January 13 2012 21:01:00 »
Is Baja really as unsafe as some people would have you believe? There are many sources which suggest both sides of the story but what do you guys know? Is it really that unsafe? Is it okay to go on a surf trip for a few weeks here?

Depends on where in Baja and what kind of trip you are thinking about.

Yeah I was thinking just a trip down most of the peninsula, stopping wherever had waves. For example would it be safe to stay in a rented camper can or tent at the beach? Or am I being naive in thinking it's so safe?

I think any place can be safe or unsafe for surfing. It all depends on yourself, it also depends in your preparedness.
If you don't have the right tools or gears, like surboard repair kits, then you are definitely in trouble.

Rich one of the tginhs that we instituted early this year in the size up process is the announcement that a 360 has been completed. We did that because so many of the LODD and injury reports indicate that a 360 is not being done thereby impacting the SA of the first due officer and everyone else.
