Hey mate dont know what the surf is like in july, it'll be bloody hot tho. Spent jan and feb cruising round morocco surfing. If you like your latte scene then essouira's for you but didnt even bother for surf there. Spent a lot of time in Kaouki, wicked place, very very laid back, ended sleeping in one of the cafes for a week. I suspect in summer (july) the place will be crawlinmg but it is definetely worth going. There are some very nice waves close by, longwalk/short drive. Little biut of localism, but respect and you will be respected, all the local surfers we met ended up being great blokes and took care of us. That or sidi ifni or mirleft

thanks dug, we're going anyway for a holiday, but wanted to learn while out there for a week. will try and get to sidi kaouki, unfortunately don't have my own gear so will have to hire..
