Taghazoute -Dec?Jan« on: November 30 2008 14:11:00 »
Planning a trip to Taghazoute for a month, and dont know much about the place. Ok, i've been to Morocco again, and can sort out accomodation myself.
What i am concerned about:
I own a 6'6' fish, should i bring it over, or will it be too big (85kg)?
Also, is there a surfshop that sells-rents out fairly good boards (something that is not crap). Will i be able to sell my board if i buy one?

I have no accomodation sorted, but i've been to morocco and it is quite easy to find some place to stay. You just rock up and start asking. You will get tons of options. If you are on a tight budget, you might be able to find a place (shared aptmt or hostel for 7-10euros per day. Of course there are more flashy places but more expensive.
A general rule is to BARGAIN. It is part of Morocan culture, so dont hesitate to do it.

I'm going to Taghazoute for about a month (5th - 29th Jan).
Thanks for the tips about just turning up and haggling over accomodation (I need to do this on a budget too, and the place I had booked closed down).
Not sure about whether or not your fish will be too big - sorry - but there are quite a few surf shops in Taghazoute (I was there last year) and, although I took my own board, I hear the boards they rent out are decent and I'm certain you would be able to sell your board if you bought one.
If anyone wants to share accomodation while I'm there, drop me an e-mail (I'm not sure if this website will publish my address so, if not, post on here and I'll get in touch).
