Dec/Jan Honeymoon in NZ. Must surf, but where?

I'm heading to NZ in Dec/Jan for my honeymoon. Yes, the wife will be in tow. Where in NZ do I have the best chance of scoring some epic waves that time of year?

I've been there last November/December and it really sucked. Any where I went it was totally flat. But Raglan has a really good left hand!
Good luck

Are you too tight for Fiji? Thats the honeymoon place bro. She can hang at the resort getting massages while you pull into warm water barrells. The surf resort on the mainland is pretty cool. Not that cheep but always good waves. They'll take you to Cloudbreak on Saturdays.

Nz is more of a car mission with the boys. You gotta be ready to read the maps cruise around.

Marrage eh! Far out bro!
