Surf, Work, accom...

Me and few buds are coming over for 3months from nov. Looking for cheap places to stay, somewhere close to non-crowded beaches, for intermediate surfers. Also if its going to be possible to get seasonal jobs, like bar/waiter etc.? Any comment will be appreciated...

Rangi: pathetic...

You other guy: Anywhere on the northern island west coast is good. West coast = always at least 2-3ft, East coast = sometimes flat and often small. It should be really easy for you to find work and accomodation there. There are several good surf spots within a 45 minutes drive from there. If you want to live closer to the beach (surf breaks) Gisbourne on the east coast, which has produced some of New Zeelands top surfers, is a possibility.
