I would like to go surfing in new zealand and i can't decide when is the best time to go, what equipment should i bring with me and how much money?

can anyone help me?

Anytime is a good time to go, it also depends where in NZ you re planning on going. It's a pretty cheap place, $15 NZ dollars for a hostel 10 for a dinner. bring a 3/2 wetsuit for most places

yeah deffinitly stay in Raglan. the sick as surf spots just stay at a batch at whale bay its mean as. for 2-3 weeks you should only need bout $500

i think the best time to go if you really want good waves is either spring or autum, eg march -april or sep-nov theres usually more swell during these times. water will be a bit cooler though. you'll want a good 4/3 for the south island, may get away with 3/2 for the north.
