Raglan or Piha« on: May 31 2007 05:05:00 »
I will be visiting NZ in the month of July. I am looking for fun and consistent waves (aren't we all), but I am not sure between Piha or Raglan. Raglan seems to have more affordable accomodation, but Piha looks like a better wave. Any suggestions? Or should I try another spot near Auckland? Thanks!

Waves near Ockland suck (apart from a few days). Regland is a world class wave (in good days it can go for 800m) bt very crowded. Best place, cheap accommodation and execelnt wave is Plymonth. Outside city off course. If you look the enough you´ll find 600m long waves and noone in the water. Just have to cross some cow fields... Worth searching!!
Mauri culture rocks

Dude, head to raglan. Better quality wave, maybe crowded but worth the wait in the lineup.
