hi your best bet would be dunno's,bloody cold and heaps of spots but lots of driving,west coast would be best bet,blaketown in greymouth has a brakewall and has rights that break heavier than some reefs ive surfed around the globe,is sooo consistant more often than not to much swell,would only be a dozen days a year that are under head high,totally dominated by boogers but when you see the waves youll know why,stand up spitting tube when its on,boogs are fierce but make an effort and so hi and dont snake youll be fine,also there number 1 sports are rugby league and boxing so i found out,amazing coastline,rumour has it that some well known yank pros surf some frigin monsters down the fiordland area ,which require boat or chopper to access,its worth the trip
