sharks and sea lions down south

with all the marine life down around dunedin, there must be quite a few sharks... do attacks ever occurr down there?

ive also heard that the sea lions cause more problems for surfers than the sharks do! whats the story there?

yeah its funny how every south island surfer will have a big old yarn about sharks,yet theres only been 2 deaths in nz in the last 100 years,the seals are agro just paddle away youll be sweet,they just like dogs if you piss them off they guna bite.
