How is da surf in NZ in may???

Good day

Just wondering whats the conditions are like in may to june.. Going to da North Island and never been there bevore in this time of year. Thanks for your help...

heading towards winter, consistent swells points are where you will find surf. bring a top end 3 2 or mid range 4 3 and you will be away laughing. booties and hood if your gay

Hey there... surf is usually pretty consistent at this time of year... water temp starts to drop.. best thing is car hire/accommodation is cheap as chips at this time of year. Best to check out the report before you head anywhere... www.surf2surf.co.nz I would recommend going on a roadie... start up North (Forrestry/Te Arai,Sandy Bay..Shippies..) .. head East to the Coromandel (Hot Water.. Whangamata) or hang out around Aucklands West Coast (Piha,Bethells, Anawhata, Karekare).. back West.. (Raglan/Taranaki)... Gisborne... watch out for the staunch locals in the water (esp. Taranaki..) they have attitude and some still like to give grief to female surfers (as I have experienced!) Enjoy.. Kia Kaha.
