Please tell me there's good surf in Auckland, I read a post that said surf is an hour away? Im moving to NZ for work and leaving behind great friends, decent surf, and a cool neighborhood, Tell me the hour drive is a lie. looking for good waves with a good vibe. any help would be greatly appreciated. Nah, Piha isn't that far away though. However, not much surf near there. I'm sure you can find soooomething. Move to Waikato - - Raglan. Or gizzy.

Hey mate, it all depends on wgere you end up basing yourself as to travell time.. were quite close to the city and it takes me about 50min to travell to the coast as there is really only 2/3 brakes on the west coast of auckland. moved from taranaki a few years ago where the surf is 5mins from wherever you live so almost an hour driving is a mission and the crowdes are big at pihia. where you moving from?

Hey I've been here about a month, I surfed Piha,Karekare,Muriwai,and Maori bay. but I don't know of any nearby East Coast surfspots. can somebody help me out. Im based in beautiful Panmure(sketchy)
