board rentals« on: January 19 2006 14:01:00 »
I see a lot of people asking if there are surf shops in San Juan del Sur. Has anyone gone there and found one that rents boards?

Yeah I went there last July and there are a couple of shops that will rent you a board. I learned to surf with some local guys from a shop called Arena Calliente (which also has rooms to rent if you end up wanting to stay on a more permenant basis).
However renting is not as cheap as I would have hoped and so if your gonna surf for 10 days or over I would consider buying a board out there and selling it when your done.

Thanks. Do you have a ballpark on rental price?

What is the board quality like? I'd really prefer not to bring a board -- but am concerned about rental options as far as quality. I've heard there are boards to rent in the $10 per day range, but have no idea what they have available.
