Yeah I went there last July and there are a couple of shops that will rent you a board. I learned to surf with some local guys from a shop called Arena Calliente (which also has rooms to rent if you end up wanting to stay on a more permenant basis).
However renting is not as cheap as I would have hoped and so if your gonna surf for 10 days or over I would consider buying a board out there and selling it when your done.

Place on the dirt road near Playa Marsella rents boards for
$ 10.00 to $ 20.00 usd per day.........

What is the board quality like? I'd really prefer not to bring a board -- but am concerned about rental options as far as quality. I've heard there are boards to rent in the $10 per day range, but have no idea what they have available.
