Nicaragua-Uncrowded Surf,Offshore wind,cheap land for sale!!« on: June 11 2006 19:06:00 »
If you guys are looking for a great place to invest and get a big return for your money look no further than Nicaragua. Here there lies miles upon miles of untapped waves, empty coastal property and friendly locals to assist with the process of Nica land ownership. The infrastructure is quickly evolving and Nica's GDP has risen a staggering 10% over the last 2 years. Its surf is gaining popularity and a big name film director is producing a Surfing video/doc on the local rippers and its fantastic wave. Look out for a surfing explosion to occur in 07 sources say. This video will put this place on the map permanently.

I am Nicaraguan too, and I feel sorry you express that way about American surfers or tourists.
Tourist and surfers are only bring money to the country that eventually help the poors by generating jobs.
Land for sale, great; let investors come to built hotels, restaurants, clubs and generate jobs. I was in Nicaragua last week and I love to see how many people are now working and learning english in Masaya, Granada, San Juan del Sur, and many other places.
There many groups of people working hard to promote Nicaragua's tourism. Naming all the beautiful beaches, volcanos, resorts, etc. will only help the country.
I believe in Nicaragua and want to see all those poor people get new jobs and bring food to their homes.
Please don't post negative messages.

Roger think of what you're really saying here. Tourism is good but not the selling of our land, all surfcamps should be Nica...we are the second poorest country in this hemisphere.

He Sandino " we are the second poorest country in this hemisphere". that might have something to do with your unwelcoming attitude.

really man, what an attitude you guys have, so sorry to see you guys waste your time online talking trash.
$ to education and health, is that as intellectual as you get?
ps. by the time I got to Miami I had already passed all levels of Calculus, mastered computer softwares and spoke english. I really wish you make half of what I make, and travel half of the World that I have traveled. "Attitude is little thing that makes a big difference" Your attitude won't take you far.

Bravo!! Bravo!!! Bravo!!!
Full credit to the Nicaraguan surfers for voicing their views on what I see as blatant and typical US exploitation of another valuable resource!!
Crony Capitalist Yanks and their fellow travellers are a CURSE throughout the earth ... from Tavarua (fiji) to Indo they are turning free surfing spots into franchised money making ventures for the "chosen few".
Nicaraguans ... sell your land at your own peril ... you will become servants and bystanders in the land that was once yours.
The few cool travelling US surfers who leave nothing but footprints and take nothing but photographs must be so unhappy knowing that unbalanced surfers like "Big T" travel the world in their name ... bad karma.

what kind of atitude can a nicraguan develop when the land he has enjoyed for so long is no longer available to him in his own country. I took a man from managua, a camera man from a local news channel, and he was insulted at the fact that he couldnt get into many beaches without the american owners consent. Im talking about a few kilometers stretch of beach. He felt minimized. His coment " thank god daniel won so this will change" "viva el comandante". explain yourself to him.
