Nicaragua from Mid/late July for 5 weeks« on: June 14 2009 09:06:00 »
I'm going to Nicaragua for 5 weeks from mid/late July and want to do it as cheap as possibly. I've searched around and seen a lot of surf hostels/camps etc but they all seem to be in the $150 (american) a night. This seems pretty steep. Does anyone know where is close to good breaks and that is cheap. Maybe a cool family or if anyone is going around that time that wants to share accomm. to make it cheaper etc?
Gimme a shout if you think you can help.
Take it easy,

What's up dude, I'm actually leaving to Nica this Sunday coming up. I got hooked up with the best deal, check out the website below and if you talk to Keith, tell him i told you about it. I'm all set up with three buddies of mine for a week with him at the place he rents. He's just starting to do this so the rates are very very cheap.

go to Popoyo, there are many cheap places to stay right on the beach with great surf right out front. Check out www.hotelpopoyo.com they have a bed in the dormer for only $12 a night and this place is very nice, clean and safe They even have A/C!. (i do not work for them, I just stayed there). Once in Popoyo, you can look around for even cheaper rooms if you want. The big concrete hotel at the end of the road was only $10 a nite for your own room ($6 if you stay for a week). No A/C and the place was a little sketchy but you can see there are other cheaper rooms in the Popoyo Area. Tons of peaky beach breaks out front and you can find uncrowded surf, cheap.
