Anyone been to Los Cardones ?

« on: June 15 2009 21:06:00 »

I noticed their website said they have NO A.C. in their rooms.  Is this place hotter than hell, or is it tollerable.  I've been to El Salvador and Costa Rica and I know how hot it is in July.  Is it even worth it?

I have not been there, but I am a surf guide and could potentially offer a cheaper alternative.  Contact me for details,  Cheers,

i'm a surfer living down in San Juan del Sur just starting a surf tourism directory website and we do weekend trips up to Los Cardones once a month if we can.  The place is awesome and well worth the trip..really good people and never anyone else in the water...ever

Yes, I have been there...and I loved it!!!  The place is an "ecolodge" meaning you have zero electricity.  But don't worry it's not that hot or uncomfortable.  The people there are excellent, the food is EXCELLENT!!!  and the surf is decent.  You need to plan your trip so that high tide comes in the morning to catch the best wind, although the winds generally stay pretty favorable.  ZERO people in the line-up!!!
