Board rentals near Tupilapa« on: January 05 2010 06:01:00 »
We are going for a vacation to Tupilapa and need to rent the boards.
Does anyone know what is the nearest place for renting boards around Tupilapa area?
Also if you know good surfing spots near Tupilapa, I would appreciate the information.

Haven't been where you're heading but it looks like its near San Juan del Sur. There's a budding (I was there in 2004 so might have exploded by now) surf culture with a few places to rent/buy gear, surf tours, etc. This leaves the locals (or the Rivas locals where I surfed at least) with a tricky paradox. The majority of the surfing locals also work within the budding surf industry, either in retail, rental, lessons, surf camps or offering tours to the spots they once had to themselves. Therefore relying on the influx of surf travellers as a means of income to support their lifestyle, but simultaneously crowding out their once isolated waves.
