surf camp in late august?« on: July 22 2011 15:07:00 »
My husband and I are coming to Nicaragua in late August for a week. We're expert longboarders from Santa Cruz and we're looking for a good surf camp that's affordable. Any suggestions?
I'm also a big fan of renting a car and driving from break to break, finding lodging each night as you go... but I don't know if that's advisable in Nicaragua, so a camp might be an easier option for our first trip.
Thanks a gazillion for any advice!!!

I've been here since before the camps and in my opinion it's fine to travel w/ hubby and search for spots and lodging,.. hell Captain Lance traveled all the way from Fla. w/ girlfriend vis Mexico. there's always cheaper places to stay or camp at thebeaches besides the camps. + more flexibility to explore in case there's no waves at in front of the camp is always nice...email@example.com, 33 yrs old surfing nica since the 90's.

I thiking you should rent a car an explore the places. San Juan del Sur it is a quiet place and you could surf in Maderas, around one hour by car. You have places near Maderas, but there are quiet expensive for my economy. you could find place for 10 dolars very nice in SJDS. And if you have a good economy you could go to another really nices places.
If you want to move around Nicaragua, rent a car.
