You may find decent waves, I caught a few there. When I was there I stayed at a place called "El Refugio" in Playa El Palmar. It was just this guys house and he rented out some of the rooms on the bottom floor. If you take a bus there, have them drop you off at that beach, and then ask around for Russell or Jay, his son. It's right on the beach, a sweet spot to stay if it's still in operation. Also, if you're trying to rough it, get to the beach and walk all the way down on the right. There are some spots to camp if you're up to it. I found it to be a rockin' little hideaway. Good luck and have fun.
