Surfing Chicama.« on: July 03 2012 16:07:00 »
Have you been and is the left as amazing as it seems? I am in the process of planning a trip to the Chicama Surf Resort in April 2013. I am more a longboarder these days at 41 years old. I am regular footed by perfer to go backside more than I like frontside. Just looking for a tiny bit more info on this spot before I lay down the down payment.

It's a great resort, very friendly staff and good food. It's pricey compared to the rest of the town obviously, but if you get some good swell it wont matter. Such a long ride, it'll blow your mind. I longboard and shortboard, great wave for both. If there's no swell there the hotel will arrange for a trip to other breaks in the area that may be working. Don't know how April is for conditions, but I was there last year, late August/early September and it was going off! Planning a return trip same time this year. Hope this helps! And yes...if there is a big swell...it's definitely as advertised.
