Peru surf season« on: January 09 2006 20:01:00 »
I'm planning a lifelong dream of surfing and experiencing Peru. Can anyone tell me the prime month/s to be in Peru for surf... I'm getting conflicting info from friends- would love to score Chicama amongst other prime areas.. Any advice appreciated.. Ciao.. Matt

Did that trip 5 years ago man. Travel light. There are waves year round. In the north where it's warm water its usually only Nov-march. South swells go year round with the best in Mar-Oct. It's a skeleton coastline, so bring all you need. Cool towns, great people, and great experience. Petty theft may irritate you if you tempt them, so don't leave your stuff out. Chicama is a waiting game, head there if the swell is big b/c its sheltered somewhat. Long, but not super exciting.
