Beginner surf spots in South Peru

Hi can anyone point me to some good surf spots between Lima and Chile for beginners. I have heard the waves of Peru are big and powerful so want to takkle some smaller waves before attempting the better spots in Peru.

ANy help or advice would be most appriciated
