Hi Blake! How are you doing? Most spots in Peru are really good for longboarding. Peruvian waves are very long and most of the places can reach around 2 to 3 meters (6 to 9 feet). There are many spots for Bodyboarding in the Lima area, so for you and your friend the Lima area would probably be best, or Lobitos, Barranca areas, etc.

Thanks Victor. I'll keep your email and write closer to next summer or winter rather. Is there a lot of trouble between bodyboarding and surfing...Heard Peru can get somewhat dangerous and I don't want to be out of line anywhere.

Heh! No problem. How are you? Well, the best way to be safe is to hang with a local or go on a surf tour. I don’t think that there is much trouble between bodyboarders and surfers here in Peru. Most surf and bodyboarding spots are pretty uncrowded, so that helps. And we are all family (surfers and bodyboarders). There are some places that can be dangerous, but you know everywhere in the world has dangerous spots. You just need to know what areas to avoid, etc.
Talk to you soon.

Hey Victor, how's it going? I talked to my friend down there (she's in Peace Corps) about our trip next June. She said we'll be around Trujillo to surf. With the same questions from above applying (bodyboarding/longboarding), what spots should I be looking to surf? Many thanks!!!!!

Hey there! How are you? Well ,there isn't many options around Trujillo for bodyboarding. Huanchaco would be the best place for you and your friend. This place is good for longboarding and also bodyboarders. There is some other places a few hours from Trujillo, take a look here w...eco-innovationtours.com
I hope you catch the best waves. see you, take care
