Please help, south of Lima« on: October 26 2006 07:10:00 »
Travelling to the San Bartolo and Cerro Azul areas.
I will have the wife with me and I am desperately trying to find a nicer hotel south of Lima.
Otherwise my wife will insist that we stay in Lima.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you are looking for a hilton or any thing close you are out of luck. The best hotel in cerro azul is the turist hotel which i cant recomend.
Your best chances are with a hotel located in the middle of the highway between the north bound and south bound lanes some where between kilometers 40 and 55 which makes it vary close to punta hemosa. Has no amenities but is clean. Your other option which is not close to either beach, and I have no idea if it is open this time of year is a hotel very close to the north entrance to Buhama beach aprox kilometer 90. The entrance is 1 or 2 kilometers after the buhama toll (peaje). This one is very nice and would be only 40 kilometers away from cerro azul. Sorry I do not know the names hope this is of any help.

in S bartolo you can find some clean in front of the 2nd beach(sur), is next to the only one minishop, has 2 terraces and is quite new, forgot the name but if you don`t like then try some just in front of the big pier, ask for Doc Garcia girlfriend. In Cerro azul there are some budgets on the lfet side of the pier, eat on the famous restatuarnt in front of the beach good pisco sour.
P.d: don`t bring a girl on any surftrip, ever!

Hi Jason! How are you? I just saw your post. La Casa Barco is supposed to be really nice and is in Punta Hermosa, near San Bartolo. It’s more expensive than most places around there, but I’ve heard good things and there’s not many options in San Bartolo. Another option would be to go up to Mancora, where there’s good waves, nice beach (for your wife) and nice hotels.
You can find more info on surf spots around San Bartolo (and Mancora) at eco-innovationtours.com
