surfing in May, conditions?

Hi there,

i will be traveling to Peru in May to visit the ruins and wanted to schedule a short surfing trip afterwards, could somebody recommend a good surf school in the lima area? how are the conditions? i am a beginner/intermediate. should i go more north or is lima a good area to start?

I think Punta Hermosa would be your best option in order to not spend time traveling or spending a lot of money. There are less people in water in Punta Hermosa. I recommend you to try They work in all over Peru, they do have a surf camp where you can stay and get your surf classes or equipment, meet other surfers and do different activities. Though the weather is better up north around Mancora, waves are much better in Punta Hermosa in May

True about punta hermosa, i have a surfcamp there, check out the pirces and pictures and U make the decision, the north of peru has surfing seasons, that's from december to march, no waves the rest of the year, unlikely.
anyway, my page is i've seen people recommending it here as well.
