Just go get a cheap hotel which you can find if you dig a little? Gas is expensive, yes, you can camp where you can it could be pretty dangerous on your own. We all like to travel cheap but Peru is cheap anyway! The bus system kicks ass in Peru, you can go pretty much anywhere at any time. Its the cheapest form of traveling. I would stay in Mancora or in Tallara or in the Lobitos area. Mancora offers the most with surf. I havent been back to Peru in 5 years, I spent over 6 years in a roll going and coming from California. Ive heard the north is a complete zoo now!!!!!!!
