Surfing + Machu Picchu?

I am just starting to plan a trip to Peru in December. I would like to combine a surfing trip with hiking in Machu Picchu. I have 14 days to work with.

Any suggestions on arranging this trip? How many days do I need in Machu Picchu? Is it best to start surfing for 3 days, spend 7 days trekking to/from Machu Picchu, then end it with 4 days at the beach?

Any suggestions appreciated.

Hello! You should go to eco- innovationtours they are specialist in doing surfaris and mountain trekking.
If you want to spend one week in the coast you should go to Punta Hermosa on mysurfcampperu it’s located in the most consistent area in Peru they also can arrange trip to the mountains.
About the journey to the mountains, I would say you don’t need one week in the mountains unless you really want to spend that much time there.  4 days is enough time to do the 2 day  trek to Macchupicchu  and unless you want to do the 4 days trek then you need a week in the mountains and you can spend one week on the coast.
You also can stay in Punta Hermosa one week straight and then go for one week to do the trek in the mountains.
If you need more help write me.

Dave -
Would you mind passing any info you find out about on to me?  I'm a Denverite as well and planning a pretty similar trip at the end of January.
