surf in August?

« on: May 20 2010 03:05:00 »

How is the surf in August in Peru and south America. Thinking of taking a trip. I know the water temps are colder and that it is typically not the season. Just curious as to what the conditions were like as well as the temperatures both air and sea. Thanks

August is prime south swell season.
Where are you thinking about going in Peru?
Lima, Chicama and Pacasmayo will be going off.

Have fun

what are we looking at with water temps. Would a 3/2 do it or would I need booties and a thicker suit?

I was surfing the central coast last year in early August and a 3/2 was fine, no booties needed.
