Siargao

Going to Siargao for the first time in February (first time to Phillipines :)). I'm reading online that spots around Cloud 9 offer some smaller waves for beginners? Is this true? I have some experience surfing but not much.
Any recommendations on where to stay that has board rentals etc is appreciated.
Don't need a fancy place just somewhere that rents equipment (surf, sup and windsurf if possible).
Thanks

RE: Siargao

Hey there

We went to Siargao in April this year. If you're intermediate then i suggest Dako Island and Cemetery (my favourite session due to hardly any crowd). If feeling more confident try Salvacion (when smaller) and at a push Stimpys (i.e. competant on a shorter board as think it only works properly at head high). Salvacion is not easiest to get to but someone will explain how to get there.

Check out the spot guide on Fat Lips Surf website. You can also rent boards there. https://www.surfsiargao.com

Can also rent boards from Hippies on the road opposite Cloud 9.

RE: Siargao

if not quite intermediate i'd stick to jacking horse, G1 (hard to find). Best to pay a local guide.
