Surf in March« on: January 08 2006 03:01:00 »
A bud and I are thinking about coming out the last week in March. Any suggestions on where to go? Thinking about Catanduanes or Siargao, but would like to hear from someone who has actually been there at this time.

Im not sure if March would be a good month at Siargao, I've been there last year, the whole month of September, swell and break was awesome, bring some booties coz it's rough and sharp. I stayed at Sagana Resort just walking distance from Quicksilver and Cloud 9, locals are great. If you want something cheaper, there are heaps of shack around the area. Fly Asian Spirit from Manila to Surigao, then a ferry, and then a jeep ride. Alternatively, you can go to Crytal Beach Zambales 3 hours from Manila, been there too, not a bad break conviniently close, good luck and have fun mate!

going to philippines mid march also and want to get good waves, near a city where we can go out at night, and where there are no terrorists or bandits to give us a hard time (in other words, where it's safe); can you tell us where we can go please?
we've been surfing a while so we can handle some good breaks....

Have you been to Calicoan in Eastern Samar? Last years' competition was held there. You ought to try there, round up your friends, i know of a place great to stay , just minutes away from the surfing area, jeepney or tricycle will take you there. You might not want to go home when you have been there!
