HELP! Wanna take surfing lessons this June. Where? With who?« on: April 21 2007 11:04:00 »
I NEED to learn how to surf this june. I'll be home in the phils for only three weeks though. You guys reckon i'd learn in say, a week?
Is june a good month to surf? Where do u reckon should i go? No experience whatsoever in surfing but i am dead serious about learning it. :) Do u guys know of any good instructors who might be able to help me? Oh! and resorts as well.
So far, I got the contact num of mac of Crystal Beach in Zambales (I was reading one of the forums earlier).
One more thing, are there any good places to surf in boracay? :)
Thanks sooo much! Any info would be really REALLY appreciated!

If you are coming from Manila, I'd like to join you. Let us go to Zambales, near Manila and there boards for rent there. If you are couple, I bring my wife. In three days, if you are good in balancing, you can surf. There are lot of good instructor there. Crystal people say wave starts May.

I don't have the number but a local, Baker, can certainly guide and help you...I was there last weekend and it was fun! (saved 3 kids from drowning too). Use wetsand forecast, if you see the area at green with 4-5ft forecast, you are almost guaranteed of a good swell and surf...Not much boards for rent, but they can at least find one for you...they do have skimboards and bodyboards for rent...have fun!!!

Hi Jai! My email email@example.com. Bagasbas is quite near Daet and accordingly good for beginners. As Shadzki said, check wetsand forecast for the swell which I do also. If you are 3 then I go alone with you guys and bring my longboard. Lets have fun.

No problem Jai. I've been in Zamba too, pundakit would be a good place for beginners, crystal's a good place too...although mas crowded and pundakit minsan kasi maliit lang area, unlike crystal mahabang stretch parang bagasbas....check out the pictures, Asia/Philippines/Bagasbas...I submitted most of the pictures there =) It's good if you have your board na, you can learn at your own pace...mahirap magsurf sa umpisa, frustrating, but you'll get to ride some clean waves and para ka ng naka-jani woker...keep on paddling!hehehe
