want info re waves in the phils« on: May 26 2007 23:05:00 »
yo guys, i started to surf 2 months ago and i totally enjoyed it. ive been practicing riding the waves in san juan la union. the locals there are cool and very accomodating. they taught me all the basics that i needed to know and were patient with me the whole time. matutuwa and beginners dun. anyways now that i already know a thing or two on surfing, i just wanted to get info on the waves in the philippines. im curious about where when how the waves come. i also want to know how to check for upcoming waves via the internet. i talked to a couple of locals in la union and they talked about south swell and plunging waves which i couldnt understand. so can anyone please educate me? cmon guys help a beginner here. any info about this topic would be useful. thanks.
jc from manila

You can check wetsand.com, go to swell watch and Philippines north. You can also check magicseaweed.com to find out where the waves will be. South swell season is starting soon, that means there will be waves in Zambales. Go to Crystal beach, there are recommendations already on this forum. Enjoy the surf.
