Flying in next week and would LOVE to learn to surf!« on: May 12 2008 13:05:00 »
Hi! I'm flying in from Vancouver, B.C. to Manila next week (May 20) to visit family until July 3rd. Hope to spend most of my time visiting places outside Manila with my cousin & taking advantage of the beaches! It would be a dream if anyone is down there over the summer who can give some classes- very beginner style classes! or if you have any info for where I could start to look for something like that. Will be staying in Makati, so where to from there? Thanks!!
p.s. I won't have my own board so will need to borrow/ rent

If you'd like to try the Philippine Surfing Academy, they have a surfing courses for all levels at Real, Quezon, which is only 3 hours away from Manila. They've got complete packages that are very affordable and they include surfboards and equipment...checkout there multiply site www.surfingacademy.multiply.com. This contains all the information on there courses. It also has photos and videos.
Thank you!« Reply #2 on: May 13 2008 23:05:00 »
Thanks for the replies. I think the plan now is to take a few lessons at the Surfing Academy first and then stay at that San Juan Surfing Resort for a week and take a few more there! Will be at the resort the last week of May if any beginners want to hang out- email me so I know to look out for you!
To Darryl: Went to the site and got a little confused as to what the address is. I think the one I want is CME Pacific Real, Quezon but there is no address. Do you know? Also do I need to book ahead or can I just show up at 7am
