Learn to Surf in the Philippines

« on: February 15 2009 16:02:00 »

Anyone travelling to Asia interested in surfing, should try the Philippines. Most coaches are about to be professionally acreditted by the Academy of Surfing Instructorsand will be delivering 1st class surfing lessons. There are many great learning destinations in beautiful tropical surrounds all with easy access from Manila. Here are a few of the most reputable ones.
La Union, Luke at San Juan Surf Resort. Zambales, 540 Surf Company. Manila and Real, Quezon, Philippine Surfing Academy. Try them out and leave your thoughts. Also it is the most affordable country to do lessons at the moment.

completely agreed
five of us have just been to san juan and then to Baler. Baler is much nicer, but either way people are friendly. the philippines is a bit shambolic, but it's safe and they're actually quite honest.
both rental is P800 a day, we negociated P650 for five days
