surfboard and public transport

« on: February 26 2014 06:02:00 »

hi ! does anyone know if the trams, trains and buses/taxis (public transport) around Portugal (mainly in  lisbon and the algarve) are okay with having a surfboard on board. Do they make a fuss?  does it cost extra ? is it possible at all?

peace and thanks : )

Hey, I hope this is not too late. Public transport in portugal is surfer friendly as long as you have a sock or bag for your board, the biggest issue your likely to face is cramped conditions if youve got a big board. Also, biglisboa.com has a ton of info about surfing in Lisbon and around and you may be able to find ou more there about particular bus/trains routes, but in general, yes you can take your board on public transport, without any issues or extra costs.

Experience: I do it all the time ;)
