Surf in portugal in May?

« on: April 26 2014 14:04:00 »

Hi,

myself and my wife are going to the figueira da foz area of Portugal for 1 week from the 12 of May on a belated honeymoon.... I am a fairly experienced surfer and I am wondering what are the swell conditions at this time of year i.e. is it worth taking board/wetsuit etc? would also be interested in any surf guides in the area....

Thanks in advance for any information on this..... much appreciated

Liam

Hi Liam
There's one some websites that can provide you the information about the surf conditions for ex. magicseaweed or windguru. Inclusive you can download the aplications to your phone!
In a general way at that time of the year you can count with nice waves like 1.5 to 2.0 meters
about the surf guiding we provide that service! take a look at hour website at
http://www.ride351.com/surftrips.php
mainly we do surf trips but also surf giding, just give us a call and we can talk about it.
Best regards

Hi Liam try this website http://www.portuguesewaves.com it´s from the portuguese tourism board. Besides that, the sweel is starting to drop, so you'll find waves from 0,5m to 1,5m depending on the spots. You can easily rent a board or a wetsuit. Good vibe is all you need to come to Portugal. And remember if you need a van just take a look at portugalbyvan.com or check at www.facebook.com/portugalbyvan. Nice honeymoon and congrats.
