Moving to Algarve with family for a winter, where to? :)

« on: August 17 2014 12:08:00 »

Hello dear fellow surfers ;) I'm Priit from Estonia (a small, green but cold country in Eastern Europe)

We are making preparations for moving to Portugal for a winter, probably Algarve region or westcoast near to it and rent a place to stay.

We are looking for a small town/village on the coastline with basic needs (medical care, food places, internet etc) - it doesn't have to be something fancy with mad nightlife.. more like natural and good place to spend time with 6 month old kid :)

RE: Job vacancy in the Algarve surf camp

My (wave)surfing skills are a bit over beginner.. but I'm a advanced level kitesurfer/wakeboarder/snowboarder for years. My main goal is to spend good time with my family, live on a coast (so I can walk/longboard to the beach with my newbie board) and learn to properly surf waves ;)

We are planning to reach Portugal somewhere at the start of September.. all suggestions what and where to look for apartments/parthouses and what are the average prices off(summer)season?

Thanks a lot,
Priit

Hi there. Maybe Dorms & Doubles Guesthouse is the place for you. We are located in Praia da Consolação (5 minutes by car the city center of Peniche), beach is only at about 5 minutes walking and at about 5 km by car you can find the Supertubos beach, the spot that, every year in October, hosts the ASP World Tour.
Consolação is a very quiet and peaceful area of Portugal with all the main services available, we are very close to the best beaches in the country but at the same time away from all the hustle and bustle in Peniche and Baleal.
If you are interested take a look at our website www.dormsanddoubles.pt and feel free to email us to ask for prices and availability. We have a couple of interesting promotions.
Hope you have a great time in Portugal with your family.
Best regards
Patrícia
