Peniche or Ericeira during winter« on: November 26 2014 11:11:00 »
Hi all. I've been to Ericeira during summer, but never during winter. I've been a short while in Peniche during winter, and now I wanna go to one of these places again this winter. My skill level is intermediate. I wonder if anyone could recommend one of these places based on these criteria sorted by how important I find them:
1. Stable conditions.
2. Choice of different spots
3. Less people to compete for the waves
Thanks a lot!

as everything in life, it depends. Peniche is a smaller place but has one great advantage. The geography. It gets swell from every directions. If it's big in one side you have the other, if it's windy and stormy in one beach you can go around and have much better conditions in another beach. Ericeira is bigger, with a better night life and a beautiful and typical town center for walking and having a nice cup of coffee. It gets the waves also, but if it's big in one beach is going to be big in every other ones. There is another option: Why don't you rent a van a travel everywhere? Take a look at www.portugalbyvan.com you'll get a great deal there. Have fun.
