Surfing in Portugal

Hi
My wife and i are wanting to go for a surf trip in portugal in september. I'm an experienced surfer so more barrels and less crowds are best. And we are also hoping to stay somewhere that we can experience the culture and cuisine of Portugal... not just big city tourist deal.

Any suggestions from anyone? id appreciate any you have !

Thanks!

RE: Surfing in Portugal

More barrels, less crowds? I suggest time travel.

Ericeira is nice for waves and local culuture.
Peniche has good waves, but is not very nice.
The Lisbon coast is crowded, but has cuisine and culture
