Surfing around Porto

I'm going with some mates to Porto for a long weekend in May and would like to do some surfing. Any recommendations on where we can hire boards or possibly some of the guys might want to take a lesson? We won't have a car, so need to be able there reasonably easily via public transport.

Did you get replies to this posting Jason?

I am in a similar position needing a board and wettie for later in the year. If you have any information (even after your trip) it would be much appreciated.

Try "Surf Local Surf shop" if you go to Le├ža da Palmeira or "Matosinhos Surf Center" or "Surfing Life Club" in Matosinhos, this last one is right on the beach at Matosinhos...good [email protected]

How did you go with hiring board in Porto?  I am also going on business but will have half a day free to surf and don't really want to carry my gear all the way across!

Looking for surf spots in Portugal ?
