Summer in Portugal? are there any small waves?« on: August 12 2006 20:08:00 »
Obviously Portugal gets better swell in the wintertime. But how consistent is it in the summer? Is it shortboardable in June and in August? Of those two months, which is better to go in? I'm not looking for anything epic, but is it get waves like San Diego in the summer. I'm from the East Coast of the U.S., so I know how flat it can get. Is Europe a little more consistent in the summer compared to East Coast?

Hey Courtney: Portugal is a great lace for year round surfing as there are endless spots to choose from. I am based on the LIsbon coast and we surf year round with no problem and without having to travel far. During this months the best areas around here are Praia Grande,, Guincho, Pequena, Macas....to name a few and for sure good enough for shortboard!. Let meknow if U can help any more and take care.
