Mid-Sept: beginner spot + accomodation + Porto->Lisbon

Aloha,
Me and my girlfriend will come to Porto on Sept 8, and then travel to Lisbon. We have 8 days and would like to stay 1or 2 days in each city.
The rest (5days) we'll be travelling, I think along the coast. I previously did some surfing on Malibu-boards on the French coast (and it was quiet difficult) but my girlfriend is absolutely beginner. We are looking for a spot where beginners can easily do some surfing or bodyboard.

My questions:
-good beginner spot to do this between Porto and Lisbon
-is a wetsuit really necessary, we only have our rucksack, expensive to rent one
-does anybody know good sleeping accomodation in Porto/Lisbon or in a good beginner surfspot (we also migth visit Coimbra)

Best regards,
Frank from Belgium

RE: Mid-Sept: beginner spot + accomodation + Porto->Lisbon

Hey Frank, I am on the lIsbon coast and its a great place for all levels. There are plenty of spots for all levels and all conditions.
As for a suit, unless you are real hard core, I woudl say yes....the water is pretty cold here.
Let me know if you need any help and I will be happy to reply, take care and maybe see you next month, Karin

hey frank - i replied to this earlier but it seems it got removed - obviously they think i was shamelessly promoting our hostel!

anyway - even without you staying here, figueira da foz is a good place to go, good for learning, close to coimbra where you said you were going to stop and equal distance between lisboa and porto.

drop me a line if you want any info
