surf holiday advice please« on: January 14 2007 15:01:00 »
i am from scotland and planning a surf trip with 3/4 friends to portugal in june 07. we are mostly beginners but are keen to get alot of surfing done.
Do you think a surf school the best for us to get the most out of our holiday ?
Which area would you recommend - good surf, nice beaches and some bars (though not too busy)?
any info would be great

Hi Cazza, well I would say a school is best as you get more advice and improve your surfing faster. The LIsbon coast as some great spots and not as crowded as the South. Any questions let me know. Have fun!

Yep surfschool is probably the best option. Not only you´ll learn must faster bt they will show you around. The north coast is really great specially south from Porto. Excelent empty beaches, cheap, good food and wine and places to visit.
I can give u some more info if u need.

Just wondering how easy it would be to have a surf holiday in/around Lagos without going to one of those Surf Camps??? I won't have a car either, so will I be able to rent a board and walk to a decent beach from Lagos town?
Please email me any info!!! Thanks!

KS I understand that you want to promote your business there, But can you stick to the facts?
The north and south are the places where is relatively uncrowded. And as with any spot around the world, close the the big city it is crowded.
