Surfboard transport with taxi/bus?« on: March 03 2007 06:03:00 »
I´m planning a trip to Portugal this April but there is still one problem: I don´t have a car (I´m too young to rent one, and if I could, it would still be too expensive). So I have to get from the airport of Porto to the campsite (about 15km to the north) by bus or by taxi.
Has anybody experience with transporting a surfboard by public transport? Are there any taxis with a roof rack? ;)
Or estate cars to put the board in the back?
Otherwise I would have to tramp....

tell the taxi driver to put the front seat back, put your board there and sit in the back, no worries

get the train and head south from Porto. There is no worries with trains and it takes you to excelent surf spots like espinho.
If you want some cheap places to stay around that area let me know.
