Accom&surf in Portugal- where's the best place??

« on: April 19 2007 04:04:00 »

Hi,

Myself & a few friends are thinking of taking a hol to Portugal in July. We're a mixed bag of total beginners and some with a little more experience, but we'd definitely be looking for some nice beach breaks! Does anyone know where the best place to find waves at this time of year is? Don't want to do the whole surf holiday package thing, but we'd need to be able to rent gear and if lessons were avialable for some of the group-bonus! Also good places to stay...with a bit of night life...

Thanks :-)

Lisbon is a good place as you have many spots to surf and there are plenty of options for all levels. The beaches that have the best waves are Guincho, Praia Grande, Pequena and Macas. All are beach breaks. Hope it helps!

I recommend to you the Algarve, principally Praia da Carrapatera, here you have everything and for all the levels levels of surfing, beautiful beaches, calm someone and others not so much and a good night life, if you need more information, send to me a mail, which helped you with great pleasure
